Instagram grid rearrange: plan the new order before you touch your feed
An Instagram grid rearrange planner lets you preview a new profile-grid order before you apply it on Instagram. Instagram now lets you drag your existing posts into a new order on your profile, but doing it live means guessing, and every drag reshuffles the whole grid. The safer way: plan the layout first in PlanMyGrid, then replicate it on Instagram once you're happy.
How to plan an Instagram grid rearrange
- Import your live feed. Connect Instagram and click Import posts, PlanMyGrid pulls your recent posts into the grid with their captions.
- Rearrange visually. Drag posts around a full 3-column preview until the feed looks right. See the whole grid at once, not one swap at a time.
- Get the target order. Click Apply on IG for a numbered layout of your posts, position 1 is top-left.
- Apply on Instagram. Open your profile → menu → Edit grid, and drag each post to match the numbers.
Why plan it first?
| Rearranging live on Instagram | Planning in PlanMyGrid first |
|---|---|
| One post at a time, hard to see the whole feed | Full-grid preview, drag freely |
| No undo, every move is live | Experiment safely, nothing goes live until you say so |
| Can't try multiple layouts | Duplicate the grid, compare options |
For agencies, this is even bigger: plan a client's grid rearrange, share it for approval on your own domain with no client login, then apply it once they sign off. See the agency features.
